Flowers emerge and seem to grow so quickly as the warm spring weather energizes them. I have used the negative background painting technique in several areas, and the rice paper provides additional texture.
Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter.
