This is a diptych (hence the line down the middle) where I have painted pieces of rice paper in the background to add contrast to the smooth flow of the flower petals.
Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter. Our beautiful home and studio near Iola, Wisconsin was my own design and includes gallery space and work areas where I can give individual instruction. I have had my work accepted in over 200 exhibitions in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois, including sixteen national, eight international, and ten...

Carolyn, I am a big fan of your diptychs and triptychs. I especially like the off-center split you have created here. L&F I would like to offer similar cropping for some of my artworks, however, I am wondering how FAA, prints and frames pieces such as this one? From the offerings shown below, it appears FAA prints the line separation to be a part of the painting—leaving it up to the purchaser to separate the print, if desired. Is this correct?
Carolyn Rosenberger replied:
I have never sold one, Doug, but I assume FFA would print it just as is, with the separation showing.

Carolyn, How nostalgically delightful, beautiful pink petals! My Grandmother used to grow an heirloom ancestor of this perennial in her gardens. I remember the stems being somewhat woody-looking with a fuzzy covering. They propagated by sending new shoots underground, but were difficult to transplant. Thanks for the memory connection. L&F
