This painting has a partner which is titled "honeysuckle". When viewed together, the background colors flow from this painting into its partner. So they can be used as a diptych. This painting is mounted on clayboard, varnished, and the edges have been hand torn to eliminate the need for frame or glass.

Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter. Our beautiful home and studio near Iola, Wisconsin was my own design and includes gallery space and work areas where I can give individual instruction.
