It is fun to create a scene from my imagination, and this one is a "dreamscape".
Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter. Our beautiful home and studio near Iola, Wisconsin was my own design and includes gallery space and work areas where I can give individual instruction. Please DO tell me what you see in this, Doug! I would love to know! To me,---- the dream world and the real world are colliding, and the dream world fades away into the distance as reality sets in. But remnants of the dreams seem to hang over us, never completely going away.
