Sometimes a path just invites me to see what lies ahead or around the next corner, as this one does. On the left side of the painting, I have used rice paper on the land forms to create additional texture.
Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter.
