This diptych was created from my imagination and is a dreamlike place where the world is at peace. The rice paper and charcoal which I added gives an extra dimension and feeling to the whole work.
Watercolors have always fascinated me, as have textures. So I sometimes combine rice paper or charcoal on my paintings. This adds an effect that I cannot achieve in any other way. The theme of nature with which my paintings deal is sometimes representational, other times more impressionistic, and occasionally abstract. The beautiful countryside of Waupaca County provides me with an endless amount of inspirational subject matter. Our beautiful home and studio near Iola, Wisconsin was my own design and includes gallery space and work areas where I can give individual instruction.
